An off-hand comment became a years-long journey into cookie creativity.

At a holiday gathering, one of my dearest friends remarked how her favorite sugar cookie source had gone out of business. Since I always baked and brought the baked treats to our gatherings, I thought, “how hard could that be?”

Well, let me tell you, it’s not easy! But what started with some pretty horrible cookies (they tasted good, but they didn’t look very nice), has ended up as my creative side hustle and something that I love doing. It’s definitely not something that will bring in the Oprah dollars that’s for sure, but it does make my heart and mind happy. It also makes my clients’ tummies happy and gives them a smile whether they are enjoying cookies for themselves or gifting to others.

Modern Whisk Cookies is a licensed Cottage A business, #LA19C2103 in the County of Los Angeles (yup, I took it that seriously). Cookies are made in a home kitchen; I don’t do gluten free or vegan (sorry). I do complete my food safety training, get certified and adhere to the rules and regs. Sadly that means I cannot conduct commerce out of state (you can buy cookies here and I will help you get your cookies where they need to go). I’m limited to the State of California, and I’ll tell you that shipping cookies is not ideal - it’s at your own risk so local is better in this case.
